Russia – T-Bank plans to build its own network of data centers

Moscow. November 14. INTERFAX.RU – T-Bank (part of TCS Holding) plans to create its own network of data processing centers, the first center is expected to open in 2027, said the bank’s Director of Information Technology and Vice President Vyacheslav Tsyganov.

Tsyganov said at the ceremony of assigning TCS Holding a new ticker on the Moscow Exchange.

We have decided for ourselves that we are going here, despite the fact that now everyone is saying that it is not the best time for investments, but nevertheless we will build our own network of data centers.

“This is a fairly expensive approach. We will do it again in our own way, we will do it differently from everyone else,”

T-Bank plans to use freecooling technology (cooling equipment using outside air – IF), which is used by the largest technology companies, the top manager noted.

Tsyganov added,

We will use freecooling technology, which no one has used on an industrial scale in the financial sector yet… It is much cheaper than the traditional approach to building data centers,

According to him, the project for the construction of a network of data centers is calculated until 2031. “We expect to see the first result and the first data center at the beginning of 2027,” he noted.

T-Bank did not previously have its own data processing centers; it rented them, the top manager recalled.

In early November, T-Bank created the legal entity “T-TsOD-2”, whose activities are related to the use of computing equipment and information technology, according to data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities.

Tsyganov emphasized,
