NorthC continues to grow in Europe, with expansions in the Netherlands and Germany with new data centers
NorthC, provider of regional data center services in the Benelux and DACH region, is set to expand its European operations further in 2025 and 2026. With these expansions, NorthC meets the growing demand for sustainable and reliable IT infrastructure and data center capacity. By establishing new data centers in Frankfurt and Berlin, NorthC is further implementing its ambitious international growth strategy.
These strategic developments underline NorthC’s commitment to drive the digital transformation for European businesses and government organisations. The new facility planned for Frankfurt will be the company’s second data center in this key economic hub. Phase 1 will see the development of 1.5 MW of IT load, with capacity expected to scale up to a maximum of 10.5 MW in the coming years. Its first data center in Frankfurt will commence operations with an IT load capacity of 3 MW.
In addition to Frankfurt’s two new data centers, NorthC is entering the fast-growing Berlin market by redeveloping an existing building into a data center. The Berlin facility will launch with an initial IT load capacity of 3 MW with a growth potential to 8 MW.
Sustainable growth with impact
The increasing demand for colocation and connectivity services drives NorthC’s expansion into new markets and regions. At the same time, NorthC remains deeply committed to sustainability, investing significantly in green energy solutions such as hydrogen-powered emergency systems and innovative reuse of residual heat.
Alexandra Schless, CEO of NorthC Datacenters, said :
The growing digitisation of business processes and government services across Europe is fueling a rising demand for reliable, scalable, and sustainable data center capacity,
“These new locations are an important milestone in our growth strategy. With a network of over 20 data centers across Europe, we are well-positioned to serve our customers regionally, working closely with various IT partners and network providers.”
More capacity in existing markets
In addition to the new locations, NorthC will expand the capacity of its existing data centers in Munich and Nuremberg, Germany, in 2025. In the Netherlands, an additional 11 MW of IT load capacity will be made available next year across its datacenters in Almere, Rotterdam, Aalsmeer, and Eindhoven to meet the increasing demand for high-quality IT infrastructure in these key regions.
These expansions represent a significant step in NorthC’s mission to deliver leading regional data center solutions across Europe. Underpinned by a strong commitment to sustainability and connectivity, this growth strategy further solidifies NorthC’s position as one of Europe’s most progressive data center companies.
