Netherlands – Inge Koopmans, Director of Data Center Services at the Tax and Customs Administration
Inge Koopmans has been appointed director of the Data Center Services (DCS) department within the Tax and Customs Administration’s IV organization, effective November 1, 2025.
The Tax and Customs Administration’s new Director of Data Center Services (DCS) will have a crucial role: ensuring that the digital systems of the Tax and Customs Administration, Benefits Agency, Customs, and the Fiscal Information and Investigation Service (FIOD) remain secure, reliable, and future-proof. These systems form the foundation on which citizens and businesses can rely—from tax returns to benefits and customs inspections. The challenge is immense. In the coming years, DCS, as an integral part of the IT organization, must innovate and evolve with rapid technological and societal changes. A future-proof DCS is essential for structurally advancing and improving the IT (Directorate). This means increased collaboration within government and with the market, smarter use of technologies like the cloud and artificial intelligence, and ensuring standardized and efficient IT services.
The director leads an organization of over a thousand people and continues to build a modern, agile, and secure IT environment. This not only guarantees the continuity of the Netherlands as a whole, but also the services that millions of citizens and businesses rely on every day. In short: the new DCS director will provide a strong foundation for the Tax and Customs Administration’s digital engine to run reliably—now and in the future—so that the government can continue to do its work effectively, securely, and affordably for everyone in the Netherlands.

Inge Koopmans has been acting director of DCS since March 2025. Since 2019, she has been a member of the DCS management team as head of the End User Services department. Inge began her career at the Dutch government in 2000 as a manager in the IT organization of the Central Judicial Collection Agency (CJIB). In 2013, she moved to the Judicial Information Service as a manager. Inge earned her Master’s degree in Public Management from the University of Twente.
This appointment to an ABD position was made through the general procedure for positions within the General Administrative Service. The Directorate-General for Administrative Services (DGABD) recruited for this position and supported the Tax and Customs Administration in the selection process. As usual, the vacancy was widely advertised, allowing everyone to apply.
