Japan’s Hitachi joins hands with OpenAI over data centers – report
Hitachi (OTCPK:HTHIY) announced a strategic partnership with OpenAI to build AI infrastructure and expand data centers globally.
The core of the collaboration is for Hitachi (OTCPK:HTHIF) to supply power transmission,cooling equipments and distribution equipment to AI data centers, Nikkei reported.
While OpenAI will provide its large language model to Hitachi, which plans to integrate the technology into its Lumada digital platform and explore utilization strategies.
The partnership was formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed in Tokyo by Hitachi President Toshiaki Tokunaga and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
The Japanese conglomerate’s (OTCPK:HTHIY) stock jumped about 10% on Friday on Tokyo exchange.
