NEW CASTLE, Del.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–FS recently announced the launch of MMC cables and MMC panels. They are specifically engineered to address the surging demand for ultra-high density and low-loss connectivity in AI-driven and hyper-scale data centers.

As AI training clusters, GPU servers, and next-generation switches drive rapid growth in optical port density, data centers face increasing challenges in fiber density, thermal management, and cable accessibility. FS MMC cables and fiber panels, designed with a new VSFF multi-fiber connector format, deliver three times the density of MPO while maintaining exceptional optical performance, making them an ideal for future high-bandwidth architectures. They offer:

Maximized Density for Space Efficiency: Up to three times the port density of MTP®/MPO formats. This significantly improves data center space utilization and power usage effectiveness (PUE), while reducing cost per port.

Low Loss for Stable, High-quality Transmission: With the TMT Elite™ ferrule and optimized structure (smaller form factor, reduced epoxy cavity, and symmetric structure), the MMC cable delivers 0.35dB insertion loss with APC polish for superior return-loss performance. All cables meet Telcordia GR-1435 standards to ensure reliability and signal integrity.

Plug-and-Play for Streamlined Operations: The cables’ Top & Bottom Rails ensure correct polarity, while the DirectConec™ push-pull boot enables quick, safe handling in the most crowded patching environments.

FS offers a versatile MMC cable lineup from structured cabling within data centers to high-bandwidth device interconnections.

Additionally, FS also introduced a 1U MMC fiber panel for managing MMC cables. It can be directly installed on standard EIA 19” racks or cabinets and supports MMC-12, MMC-16, or MMC-24 cables. Equipped with 66 4-port MMC adapters in 1U, it supports up to 6336 fibers when using MMC-24 cables.
