In 2026, the Marseille company Sesterce will set up its first large artificial intelligence data center in the Valence region, within the Rovaltain business park. This is good news for Valence, which is one of the most attractive cities in France, for its territory and for Valence Romans Agglo.

Valencia, the choice of a “dynamic ecosystem and a strategic position”

Sesterce, the French leader in cloud computing, has announced the installation of a new generation data center in the Rovaltain business park in Valence Romans Agglo.

This major investment of 450 million euros (first tranche) is part of an ambitious national plan aimed at developing AI infrastructure in France and announced by the President of the Republic today.

Anthony Tchakerian, co-founder of Sesterce said:

This project represents a crucial step in our strategy to develop high-performance computing capabilities in France. The choice of Valence was a natural one thanks to its dynamic ecosystem and its strategic position.

A data center to train and deploy AI

The future data center, a true hyper-computer, will be equipped with 40,000 GPUs (graphics processors) and will constitute a strategic infrastructure for the training and deployment of artificial intelligence.

It will be located in Rovaltain, marking a concrete and long-awaited development of the Ecotox scientific platform, in partnership with bioMérieux.

It should also open the doors to the establishment of new companies linked to the AI sector.

Nicolas Daragon, Mayor of Valencia, said:

The arrival of Sesterce significantly strengthens our position as a territory of excellence for industry and innovation.

“This project reinforces our recent “Territory of Industry” label and Valence’s position among the 3 most dynamic medium-sized urban areas in France.”
