Data Center Market Snapshot. Iberian Region – Jan – Sep 2024
- From January to September, the data center market grew by 68% in Barcelona, from 25 to 42 MW IT installed capacity.
- Installed capacity in the Community of Madrid remained stable at 164 MW IT until the third quarter of 2024. The pipeline of confirmed projects in the next 5 years has increased by 14% compared to the first half of 2023, from 551 to 628 MW IT.
- Aragon has reached an installed capacity in operation of 108 MW IT, while the region’s pipeline stands at around 1,800 MW IT. The aggregate volume of investment announced in Aragon exceeds €25 billion over the next 10 years and the region is starting to be known as “the Virginia of Europe”.
- The year 2024 has given a boost to the data center market in Portugal, which had been stagnant since 2022. The capacities installed and in the pipeline as of September 30, 2024 are 16 MW IT and 146 MW IT, respectively.
