Data Center – Digital Realty Celebrates Key Milestone in Advancement of Sustainability Goals – Teraco Commences Construction on 120
Backed by DTCP, a leading specialist investment management firm focused on digital transformation, which intends to initially invest £1billion, GreenScale launches with the immediate acquisition of Atlantic Hub, Northern Ireland’s largest data centre based in Derry, complemented by a strategic site in Donegal, Ireland totalling 170MW of capacity. There are further development plans for an additional 300MW capacity in the Nordics.
GreenScale, a large-scale sustainable data centre platform, launches today, led by an experienced data centre management team that is headed up by Daniel Thomas, as CEO, and backed by DTCP.
The data centre platform has been launched to meet the required capacity and advanced digital infrastructure requirements of hyperscale, AI and Cloud customers. GreenScale goes to market with the acquisition of Atlantic Hub, who successfully secured planning permission for Northern Ireland’s largest data centre last month. Atlantic Hub consists of two prime locations in Derry, Northern Ireland and Donegal in Ireland, totalling 170MW capacity.
With an ambitious plan to develop over 1GW capacity, GreenScale will offer its customers a range of products from turnkey deployments, which are fully designed, fitted and operated by the company, through customised build-to-suit options. This agile approach to development will appeal to global customers looking for bespoke solutions and speed of time to market within Europe.
GreenScale is committed to developing an ecosystem of alternative energy supplies, including grid stabilisation, to improve renewable energy viability and deployment to data centres and the regional energy system. These developments are targeted at meeting the requirements of its global customers, European regulations and local communities.
